Ministries

There’s almost always something going on around the church.  Here is a sample of some of the ways for you to get involved and connected:

Life Groups

At Oak Park we believe that God has designed all human beings with a need for deep and meaningful relationships with one another.  Our social, emotional and spiritual health is nourished and sustained through a loving community of friends.

As our society becomes increasingly hectic and fast-paced, too many people experience life lonely and fragmented.  It is difficult to find a caring group of people where we can simply be ourselves and know that we belong.  Even when we attend a worship service at church, it is sometimes difficult in a crowd of people to develop the kind of relationships with fellow spiritual seekers that many of us would like to have.

Life Groups offer a wonderful opportunity for us to meet and support each other in our mutual spiritual walk.  We have found that these gatherings facilitate an environment in which we can grow in our love and knowledge of Jesus Christ through growing to know and love one another.

We have a variety of groups meeting both at the church and in homes throughout the city.  They meet on a regular basis so that people can connect, study together, serve together, pray together and discover together how we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

You are welcome at any time to get involved with one of our life groups.  If you would like more information, send an email to office@oakpark.ca

Kids Park

KidsPark is the best way for our children to make new friends, have fun together and learn about Jesus… all at the same time!

When parents arrive at the church, they are encouraged to register their children for KidsPark before the start of our morning service, and then accompany them upstairs to their classroom when KidsPark is announced during the early part of the service.

Our dedicated teachers enjoy working with kids and willingly volunteer their time to teach our children about God.  We also incorporate different studies and activities throughout the year to heighten the level of anticipation and keep our children eagerly returning week after week.

Kidspark is for all kids, from Toddlers and Preschoolers all the way up to Grade 6.

Worship & Arts

C.S. Lewis said, “It is in the process of being worshipped that God communicates his presence to men.”  Oak Park is made of people who are committed to the heart-felt transformation that comes from encountering God in communal worship.

Oak Park is also made of people who are passionate about creativity and the arts, for it is through are that we express and celebrate the ongoing work of God in our lives and our world.

So whether you are musical, vocal, technical or simply passionate about expressing the glory of God; whatever your medium, we would love to have you on the team!  For more info send an email to office@oakpark.ca

+50 Wednesdays

On Wednesday afternoons at 1 pm our +50 Wednesdays group gathers in the Fireside Room for coffee, snacks, bible study, prayer and camaraderie.  If you’re 50 or older – or if you just want to hang out with the gang – there’s always room!

To break things up, every once in a while our group goes on a special outing or shares a celebratory meal in the Café.  Of course, our focus is always on sharing God’s love with each other, lifting our lives up to His amazing love, forgiveness and peace.

Mom to Mom

Mom to Mom is a support group for mothers of young children meeting every second Wednesday at the church from 9:30 am to 11 am.

Knowing that our moms are facing daily challenges, we want to help them by providing a safe place for them to meet, share their lives, study the bible and pray.  At the same time, their children will have a chance to play together and form friendships.

If you are a mom with young children, or if you can volunteer once or twice each month to help look after the children while the moms meet, please speak to our office.

Men’s Ministry

Oak Park men have fun!  Several times each year, our guys gather together for a Saturday morning Men’s Breakfast that features delicious food and a keynote speaker.

Through this and other events, our men find common ground and interests as they welcome newcomers, deepen friendships, all while discovering countless opportunities to be men of God.

GAL’s Corner

Women getting together to build relationships with other women.  Our women seek to nurture and grow their faith in the Lord by sharing their experiences, strengths and studying His Word through seminars and courses.  The GAL’s corner is a place where laughter, learning and sharing take place, and where relationships are born and cherished.
